PolarPanel was founded in 2017 at the University of Houston's Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship where the co-founders met. Using the CEO's family background in rail, the team was able to find a large need in the industry for cleaner, cost-efficient transport refrigeration.

As the team competed in competitions (including winning 3rd place at the Department of Energy National Cleantech University Prize, 2nd place at the MIT Cleantech University Prize) and participated in accelerators, their vision for the industry was continuously validated.

PolarPanel co-founders are featured on the 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 for Energy list and have participated in the 2020 MassChallege Houston Accelerator. Now focusing on raising funding for its next steps to create the full-scale rail MVP, perform rail conditions testing, and fulfill orders, PolarPanel is on the brink of its cold chain revolution.
